Early followers of Jesus Christ were called Christians after the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ. They did not name themselves. Observing how they loved one another, others named them.
Heavenly love came by the Spirit of God dwelling in the many disciples of Jesus. It spread in and among them through imprisonments, scattering, hiding, sharing in poor and secret places. This is the fellowship of God's people through His Son, born as a baby unto Mary. The love of God renews the faithful church down through the ages.
We claim thankfulness, amazement, and awe. He says to us, "Fear not, for I am thy God." We never lean on Him in vain.
Jesus cautions us about doubt and worry so that we will not move away from Him and the words of the Father. Frequently we choose to sit alone and very still in a quiet place, however small or cramped. We seek, we desire , renewal with God. To think of Jesus, who is altogether lovely, brings peace afresh. He gives strength for the next hours. His life shared with us is joyous, surprising, and divine.
Dear Lord, we are thankful for the faithful Savior! We thank you for eternal salvation, purchased for the world at such a great price! We cling to Your life for our lives. Pour out Your love from us to our brothers and sisters of God, through Christ, and may we share in their love for You. Thanks be to God! Amen.
