Always Time for Toys for Tots Where You Are

A color photo of First Lady Michelle Obama appeared again on a front page of The Washington Post newspaper last week. She was carrying a red sack filled with toys for Toys for Tots.This photo drew attention to the First Lady's special projects to help military families all year. Though known as a Christmas giving organization, Toys for Tots accepts contributions all year. It has been helped by the volunteer service of military personnel for many years.
Two military officers accompanied Mrs. Obama, and the promotional effect was enthusiastic and symbolic of the giving of Christmas and Hanukkah. This is the kind of promotion the public can learn from, along with news of other worthy causes. These programs accept and need donations of money, goods, services, and time from people like you and me. Mrs. Obama sets a good example for all who would like to give more. She draws attention to work by thousands who sacrifice hours to Toys for Tots and other helping programs every year.
It is never too late to donate to Toys for Tots or other generous non-profits helping children. These groups reach many children who otherwise would have few if any gifts or toys at Christmas. Their parents are either unemployed, overloaded, single, or not there, among other causes.
Visit the Toys for Tots webside and find out more of their good work in your area. Join the many Americans that help this fine program. Merry Christmas. It's the season for giving to others and this carries all the year through. It is always time to contribute to Toys for Tots and other good works!
