Global war on terror global war on terror global war on terror. Say it as often as you need to do so. Even if some do not want you to use those words. Even If some say those words are "no longer allowed."
If those words fit what you are trying to say, then say them!
Terrorists and terrorism. If those words best express the Twin Towers in New York City, a Pennsylvania farm field, and the Pentagon in Washington on 9/11--- then use those words.
Use words that express facts and true events as reported, witnessed, and experienced.
Terrorist. Any legitimate thesaurus says that radical and militant are synonymous with the now banned word: Terrorist.
Terrorism. The word is synonymous with violence, intimidation, bombing, and terror campaign.
Global War Against Terror. Those words imply legitimate military force and citizen protection against intimidation of violence and the violent.
What happened in Lebanon, when American military people were killed during the night with no warning and no time to defend themselves? The violence against them meets the terrorism test. They were there to defend. That night, they were sleeping. Terrorists killed them.

Isn't that what happened with the cruise ship Achille Lauro, when murderous acts were done against older civilians by terrorists?
Isn't that what happened with Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, when civilians were flying home, to vacations, to be with friends? They had no warning, no way to defend themselves. They were doing nothing but flying. Terrorists killed them.
Isn't that what happened when the U. S. S. Cole, a U. S. Navy ship, was bombed, killing and injuring many sailors on board in peace, near the Yemen harbor?
Many other terror events have happened. The holding, by Saddam Hussein, of civilians in Iraq, was one of his many terrorist acts, including slaughters of his own people. Holding civilians, he waged terror against children and adults, and their countries, for weeks through lies, intimidation and threats.
In comparison with such vile acts, the U. S. government, other nations' governments, and the United Nations did not do anything of significance until the massive death toll of 9/11.
To try to be fair, perhaps officials and citizens hoped, however wrongly, that sanctions and warnings would suffice. Many of us hoped that the most recent terrorism horrors would be the end of it.
But there is no satisfaction for terrorists. The need to kill, steal, and destroy civilians and to undermine peace is insatiable in them. Terrorism will never end until peaceful people and nations prevail against them. It is a war of words, of defense and vigilence, and of arms.
Terror happened again on 9/11. Some civilians were working, meeting, getting ready for a new day. Some were flying, going to business meetings. Others were at work on military matters and defense issues. Terrorists killed many men, women, and children that day. Their violent acts horribly injured others who survived.
I have heard no discouragement against cursing and vile language, except in Church teaching. Yet, now I hear that some politicians do not want to allow the term "global war against terror." Strange.

Burned into memory are the facts that led to this global war on terrorism, whose rise had been predicted and warned about by experts like Steve Emerson and others for decades.
There is a righteous anger than coexists with forgiveness. It is part of the coming judgment of God on those who kill, destroy, and deceive not only individuals but also entire nations in the name of religion or any cause that forbids others to have non-violent beliefs and opinions.
Meanwhile, if you live in the U. S., you and I live free. We think free. Many have died to make possible our freedoms for using our minds and voices for truth, facts, beliefs, and hopes.
We are free to use terms not approved or "allowed" by others in regard to terrorism. Freedom. It is messy, not as "clean and controlled" as the alternative.
There is the threat of terrorism . There are those who pride themselves on being terrorists . They enjoy trying to impose themselves globally. They desire to win by terror expressed through murderous acts against the most defenseless---civilians.
Wherever citizens seek to govern themselves, to believe peaceable beliefs, to live peacefully with others, to speak up for the weak, the threatened, and those who cannot speak for themselves terrorism thrives somewhere.
No one, including politicians, has the right to enforce language rules. Defend free speech. Speak and live as one who is free.
