We know that suffering is part of life in Christ,
He who suffered for us said "Take up your cross, and follow Me"
He who carried His cross, carried it as obedience
And so do we
We do if we love Him
We do if we want to be with Him
The saints of old knew suffering
That is true
But that is not the whole story
They knew incredible, ecstatic joy
They wrote of it
Joy unspeakable and full of glory
And like them, we know that joy
Let us never forget it
We are not martyrs, but followers
We are not sufferers only, but joyful people
In Christ, we await the eternal glory
That is ours
In Christ, we await the fulfillment
Of all things of God's plan
We know the end from the beginning
The glory of eternity during the slog of life
We know the light of life
In eternity's promised glow
Milton and Bunyan knew it
And from prisons they praised
And prepared the saints for
Days of pilgrimage
And days of despair
And nights of heights and depths
Of angelic help and succor
Of moments of unspeakable comforts of God
Be still my soul
The Lord is on thy side
Wait patiently, and Life
Will be thy gain
We know Thee now, O God
Our Eternal Life
We know now the forever of God
The glorious life
Love unsearchable
And full of glory
Praise the King of kings
Praise the perfect Man above all men
Praise the Servant made Lord
Praise the Meek made Sovereign
Praise the shamed One made Victorious
Praise the crucified One
He sits at the right hand of God.
Praise the Lord!
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know
ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we
ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations (Psalm 100).
