The Oath of Office for the President of the United States:

" I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" (Article II, Section I of the U. S. Constitution).

January 20, 2009

Dear Mr. President:

By the vote of the people and by the grace of God, you have come to this moment.

We give thanks to the Almighty for His sovereign grace, and pray that this nation will seek to walk in His ways.

We pledge ourselves anew to "one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all."

We ask God's forgiveness for the sins of our nation, corporately and individually; we pledge ourselves anew to thank Him and honor Him for bearing with us as one people, in every generation.

Mr. President, we, the people, know that, like all Presidents, you will succeed at times and you will fail at other times.

As the people have done for all Presidents before you, we will pray for you as you serve in this honorable Office:

We will pray for you when we agree with you; we will pray for you when we do not agree with you;

We will pray for your family;

We will pray that you will leave this nation stronger.

May God bless you, Mr. President, and may God bless the United States of America now and always.
